SABLE RELOCATION
š¾ Sable Bull: 1, Us: 0... Until Now!
Meet the sneakiest bull on the property.
Look at that magnificent boy: jet-black coat, horns that sweep back like scimitars, and that thick bush wrapped around him like a curtain. That bush was his hiding place for two whole years.
The Chase
We only ever got glimpses of him, and then he'd melt back into the thickets. We hired the helicopter. Multiple times.Every single time, he vanished.
Our bet for this attempt? Another long, frustrating day.
Plot Twist #1
Rotors spinning, wheels barely off the ground, and who's standing 100 metres from the gate, right along the fence? Him.The bull we'd chased for two years was practically waiting for us.
The vet took the shot and he bolted. We all thought the same thing: "Here we go, we're never finding him in that brush again."
Plot Twist #2
He ran a few kilometres, then lay down in the same road, against the same fence. The one spot where we could easily reach him! We blindfolded him, measured those massive horns, gave him vitamins and checked his health from head to hoof.
The Scare
On the drive to the breeding camp, he shook his head a few times... and every heart in that vehicle skipped a beat. Was he waking up?! Thankfully, it was nothing serious.
Wake-Up Call
At the breeding camp we gave him tick repellent, and the vet woke him up. This big guy was properly out, so he took his sweet time. Then came a few slow turns, and off into the bush to find the ladies.

Did You Notice This in the Video?
Why is his tongue hanging out? We pull it out on purpose, so saliva doesn't run back into his lungs and make him sick.
Why does he move so weirdly? That's the reversal drug at work. He's getting his mobility back, and it looks strange for a few minutes.
Why Move Him?
Simple: new genetics, no inbreeding. A stronger, healthier herd for the future.
